Built
in 1925 by N.B.T. Roney, who dreamed of creating a bohemian
Spanish village for artists, musicians and writers, The Clay
Hotel still nurtures the spirits of visitors
who come from around the world. We have a reputation as an oasis
of comfort for people who have traveled from faraway places.

Twenty-four
hours a day, you can step through
wood carved French doors onto the cool terracotta
tiled floor where you'll be greeted by multilingual
international staff at the front desk- The same desk
that's been there since 1925.

DAY
1, Thur Arrive in Miami Beach.
Meet in the lobby of the Clay hotel for 6:15pm orientation meeting, and introduction to the
workshop. At 6:30pm we have a photo shoot planed and will walk toward sunset shooting location
(sunset 7:08pm).
Evening, dinner (dutch treat at a local restaurant) after the
sunset shoot, where we will discuss photography issues and or agenda for
tomorrow.
DAY 2, Fri This morning we will set out
early on a walk that will take us to a number of different wonderful
shooting locations, to catch that incredible morning light on south
beach. After our
morning shoot, you will have free time to explore south beach's art deco
district on your own. Optionally, you may want to explore coconut grove,
or one of Miami's many other unique locations: they make for great
shooting locations with a uniquely Miami flavor. At 5:30pm we
have a beach sunset photo shoot planed and will walk toward sunset shooting location
(sunset 7:09pm).
Optional evening dinner (dutch treat at a local restaurant)
after the sunset shoot, where we will discuss photography issues and or agenda for
tomorrow.
DAY 3, Sat This morning we will set out
again on another early morning photo shoot (optional if you
are too tired). After this we will embark upon a Ninety minute
Art Deco District Guided Walking Tour of Ocean Drive
and Beyond conducted by local historians and architects, that will
provide an introduction to Art Deco, Mediterranean Revival and the Miami
Beach Architectural Historic District. The balance of
the day will be at your leisure to explore on your own.
DAY 4, Sun Free Day. Based upon
interest, we may optionally head out for an early morning shoot. Being
the last day, we are leaving this as a free day, so you can go back and
explore any areas we missed, or that you want to revisit before
returning home.
Return home, mid-day, at your discretion.
